This is a FUN book about airports that would be entertaining for any age. In fact I am going to buy another one for a pilot friend that should know exactly how airports work. There are several sections in this book including the following:Airports Through the AgesThe Great Get-to-the-Airport RaceFind Your Way Round the AirportThe Maintenance HangarIn the TerminalInside an AircraftThe Control Tower Sees AllPreparing PlanesShip That CargoThe Incredible Luggage JourneyAirports of the FutureMost sections have a fold out that makes that section 4 wonderful colorful pages wide. Lots of details and descriptions on every page. Tons of information about how things work at the airport. Want to know what happens to your luggage after you give it to the porter. This books tells and shows you the journey your luggage must take to get to you at your destination.Well worth the money. Excellent Airport Book. Love it.

This book is SO cool. It shows you every inch of the airport. My kids love the detailed illustrations and the pages that open up allowing you to peek behind the scenes at the airport. Learn where your baggage goes, what happens in the control tower, and so much more. This is for kids who ask all the questions. For the kids who are dying to know how things work, what all those workers are doing, and what happens behind all the closed doors. A great book to read before you go on a flight or for any kid who loves airplanes.Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

Dull, stolid, solid, filled with great facts, but if the picture was a little too pretty, take it out and get one a little more boring, if possible. This book is a fantastic departure from the old days.Still excellent facts, have flown over a million and a half miles and been in 200 airports around the world and having read Ask the Pilot: Everything You Need to Know About Air Travel by Patrick Smith as well as nother by the same author, and followed his website for years. Not a false note that I could find anywhere on these beautifully printed pages. But the pictures -- wonderful. The descriptions -- superb. The pleasure -- almost as good as actually flying.Loved this book.Robert C. RossMarch 2019

Our first grandson, who is turning 4 March 26, tries to carry his fathers suitcase downstairs so he could fly to NY to visit his grandfather and me and his little cousin! That prompted us to buy him his own suitcase and to get him this book! There are more details than he could listen to in one reading. I’ll have to treat it as a chapter book, unless I’m willing to have him lose interest, which I’m not. He’s going to learn about what happens to luggage when it gets checked in, how you get atound in an airport, people who work there, etc, all so he and others can have a safe trip when he travels. We’re visiting soon and we can’t wait to give this book to him!

What a great book! In addition to How Airports Work being about... how airports work, you learn a little about how planes fly, how to travel through an airport, and what happens "behind the scenes" at an airport. From learning about bird-aircraft strikes to the airport of the future, this book is jam-packed with information. It will take you 2 hours to get through everything, so it will last a young reader for awhile. In addition, the design of the book has fold out pages and hidden windows for an interactive reading experience.Really a nice, attractive, and informative book!

What a wonderful book rich with detailed information. Talk about a good teaching tool! I learned from it and the book answered some questions I've had such as the cargo bin underneath the plane where one's checked in luggage goes. The fold out flaps make a good thing even better and really keep readers of all ages interested.

This is a great book for any child. It gives them all aspects of an airport to explore and what goes on at an airport. It has fantastic details in the artwork and illustrates them well. It has flaps to lift up and explore and every kid loves to open flaps. It's a fun way to read. Great book all around.

The size and format of the book-with fold-out flaps--suggests an easy-to-read book for preschoolers, but HOW AIRPORTS WORK is much more than that, loaded with details that an adult reading to a kid would find interesting. Probably most appreciated by children 6 to 12.
