The book was printed using a very small font. The font is not all that dark either. So trying to read this manual is rather tough. Other than that, it is 1000+ pages are action packed content on Excel. I used the Missing Manual on Excel for 2010. I think I may go back to the one for Excel 2013 as it printed with a larger font.
. This book is a reference book. It is for the most recent incarnation of Excel® the Microsoft Office spreadsheet application. I consider this author is somewhat an expert in this particular application so for the 2013 version of this application I have no problem buying this reference book. It's a little bit hard to navigate. Unfortunately, I do not have a great deal of time to read this book from cover to cover. However it is the best source of information available as sometimes the information provided by Microsoft with its help application environment is sometimes not the clearest to me.
This is huge- a brick. Don't be intimidated, however. I'm an intermediate Excel user and in just opening to up to a few pages, I had learned some useful things. If you like a flashy, colorful presentation, you might want to look elsewhere.
I generally have a problem with all books devoted to various incarnations of Excel - they out-date themselves quickly. This is a good book and includes a lot of information, but in reality the internet is a better resource.
I was hoping for bit more information on web integration which it lacks, however this is a good book for all the new functionalities in Excel 2013, . it explains them well and very easy to follow. The Excel functions are also explained but very basic, almost same help you get from Excel so I found that a bit of a waste of time and takes a lot of space in the book, however it can be handy to introduce you to functions that you have not used before.
Very detailed manual, with many sections (also too many). Examples could be more thorough. Overall, useful as a reference manual but not useful as a daily learning tool. Too detailed for the beginner, with many sections on topics the vast majority of people will never use.
Huge book love I hope I can use it
Another great book from Bill!! I am using the Kindle version and while good some of the images are hard to see on my Kindle keyboard & touch.
