Martin Edwards will be remembered for many things that he did at Manchester United - more times than not, he would not be remembered in a very good light. But this book was an opportunity for the man himself to give his side of the story and at times, you felt that he was very much hard done by with the decisions that he took at the time; which most of them in hindsight did give United the platform to dominate English & European football for an extended period of time. Glad I took the time to read this book - gave me insights to the club, the turmoil, the growing debt, the fiasco with Knighton, managerial changes & some of the players that Edwards holds in very high esteem.
This was a good read. The business side of Man Utd from the man formerly at the helm of the club. I felt he was a bit "safe" in his writing and could have expressed himself a little louder.
Misleading version of events as he does not discuss the scandal surrounding his departure.Gives the impression that he left United on his own terms,but was actually asked to resign or be fired because of 'public indiscretions",so book is a total waste of money.Why write your story and choose to leave out the main part?
