When the arrival of a hurricane cancels Donetta's cruise at the last minute and throws the two women together, Donetta leads Kai and a group of evacuees back to Daily. The charm of the town--and the high school baseball coach, Kemp Eldridge--has Kai thinking twice about her wayfaring existence. She can almost picture settling down in Daily--until she discovers Kemp may be promised to someone else. This is the seventh book that I have read written by Lisa Wingate. She has a profound understanding of the psychological and emotional depths of human nature and the consequences that result from the circumstances of every kind that pervade society in general and affect others' personal lives. She is adept at using dialogue, including pronunciations and idioms , that are unique to the specific areas about which she writes. She is amazing with her knowledge of such vastly different cultures and locations. I give each of the books that I have read highest recommendations! She is also a writer who appreciates her readers on a personal level.

When senior citizen Donetta's cruise is threatened by a sudden shift in a hurricane's course, she is thrown together with twenty-something Kai, who is also trying to escape the storm's arrival. What happens next is two women's journey from survival to healing.I love Lisa Wingate's books, especially the small town flair and character. Being a Texan, some of the dialect seems a bit exaggerated, but that's what makes it fun. Never Say Never reunites readers with the characters they already know and love in Daily, Texas. Wingate does such a great job creating characters who are real---flaws included. I also love that the story is told from two women's point of view. Their differences in age and experience didn't matter as much as their similar desire to belong and to be loved. It took me a little bit to get into the plot although I liked the characters from the beginning, but after the backstory was finished, the storm was enough to carry the novel to a fantastic finish.Fans of Lisa Wingate will enjoy this book, and those who like Christian fiction with strong characters will want to pick up this series too.

Though Christian, all the books in this series weren't preachy at all. In this third installment, I laughed over the egg juggling homily espousing the concept of one's plate being too full to care. I've also read stories similar to the homily, but the way it was told in the book through Donetta's voice was just over the top hilarious, and yet the message is loud and clear.Featured in this book are the voices of Donetta Bradford, who was a character one wouldn't miss in the first two installments; and Kai Miller, a twenty-something cruise ship employee whom Donetta met during a hurricane crisis. I am glad about the turnout of Donetts's story, but I am still wanting of Kai's. It is easy to see where she will end up, but still I want to see it written, and enjoy the read. Maybe a fourth book?

The first book didn't finish the whole story the 2nd book at least was mentioned in the 3rd book but it end unfinished also so is there a 4th book that's going to finish the stories? What happened to the couple in book one is the movie in book 2 going to finish? Lisa is good author but when I read a series I like for it to be finishe

I was wary of this book because one reviewer had a hard time with the phonetic dialogue. I took the leap anyway because the price (at the time I bought it) made it a no-risk trial. The book is filled with some great characters and fun dialogue. The things said range from funny to sweet to wise and all of it was realistically delivered. I especially enjoyed the sermons that were appropriate and memorable.Another thing almost kept me from this book and that was the tag of "Christian fiction". I was not looking to be preached at. Instead Ms. Wingate delivered a story filled with what I think of as practical Christianity, the real deal, where people do right by others, have faith and act faithfully. It was an enjoyable book and worth reading.

This book was a true love story. Live or die when a tremendous hurricane disrupts plans for a lot of people and the way they all come to the rescue.

If you are lucky you grew up in a town with people just like Donnetta and Imagene. Lisa Wingate knows how to tell a story that is uplifting and heart warming. She has become one of my favorite authors. If you are feeling down and need an example of God's love and His ability to bring joy and love from chaos and loss read one of Lisa's stories.

I'm so sorry the welcome to Daily series is over. The characters were delightful, and literally jumped off the page. You couldn't help seeing yourself in their daily struggles. Real life want to continue to read.
