Oh my gosh! My husband and i already have a trust, but this was not only a great review of what we did and why, but i can see it is time to update our trust and add on the asset protection our attorney never even discussed with us. Douglas writes, no explains, or better yet teaches in a very clear way. Great for lay persons/ not for law students. Good, simple, straight forward, step-by-step presentation. What i liked best was he taught me about ALL the tools available for estate planning. Even the ones i don't need. Now i have a complete picture. Why is that good? Because i want to be the one-in-the-know about which tools we want to use. (Did i mention our attorney failed to mention asset protection and the reasons it may be important?) Read this book before hiring an attorney so you will know if your being counseled well. If i lived in Georgia i'd certainly attend the author's client education classes. I checked his firms web site. So should you!

Also the Social Media and erasing a digital foot print section was very thought provoking. A new element to contend with in our modern, technological age that one doesn't normally consider with estate planning.
I've read several books on estate planning and this book discusses about 80% of the same ideas. However, it does point out about 20% of new points of interest, which I call nuggets of gold. These make the book worth reading.
